Harvard All-Ivy League defensive tackle Thor Griffith entered the transfer portal Friday, he told The Athletic. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The 6-foot-2, 320-pound Griffith runs a 4.95 40-yard dash and has bench-pressed 225 pounds 45 times. He was No. 8 on the 2023 Freaks List.
  • Griffith said that he’d like to transfer to Michigan or Ohio State.
  • In his Harvard career, Griffith had 33.5 TFLs and 13.5 sacks to go with 132 tackles in 30 games.

Why Griffith is a portal entrant to watch

A former state champion wrestler and youth hockey standout from New Hampshire, Griffith blossomed into a dominant force in the Ivy League over the past three seasons. In the offseason, Griffith utilized an intense work ethic that included a diet of 6,000 to 8,000 calories a day to pack on 10 more pounds while also getting faster at the same time. His 10-yard split was also a blazing 1.65 to go with a 4.57 pro shuttle that would’ve been the second-quickest among all defensive tackles at the 2023 NFL combine.

Griffith will have one season of eligibility remaining.
